School educators and staff have been dealing with increasing levels of stress in and out of the workplace. This discussion will go over the impact of stress and vicarious/secondary trauma in school environments, with a focus on how you can take actionable steps to manage your risk.

As school leaders, we have the power to make positive changes to improve the well-being of our team members while also making ourselves a priority.??

- You will learn about challenges with prioritizing your mental health, and tactics to build more self-care into your daily routines.
- As a leader (at home and in life), we will go over strategies of how you can develop a culture of support and empathy at work.
- We also will engage in interactive demonstrations to discover the benefits of using such relaxation techniques as deep breathing and mindful meditation to reduce stress.? ?
- You will hear about best practices, success stories and gain RISE (Resilience in School Environments) resources to support resilient teams.

Rachel is a tenured and senior health educator with a passion for helping people thrive at work and in life. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente as a health educator, she spent three years teaching high school in Las Vegas and four years managing a Youth Health Educator Program for a nonprofit in Washington, D.C. As much as she loves to teach and help others, she loves to learn. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist and holds a master of education and master of science in public health.

Brandon is a senior manager, Workforce Health with Kaiser Permanente, with more than 17 years of workplace wellness experience. Brandon is a certified human resources professional and Certified Worksite Wellness Program Manager. He is passionate about health promotion, with extensive experience helping organizations and individuals address their well-being as a leader, facilitator and coach.
