Protect Women's Sports!

Dear John,

This week House Republicans are expected to take up The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act (H.R. 734). This important bill would require schools to follow the true intent of Title IX to ensure fairness and equality for female athletes.

Women's sports are under attack in America, we need this bill in the effort to protect women's sports and to expose the dangerous and destructive agenda of the Left! When men are allowed to compete against women in sports they rob them of their privacy, safety, and opportunity.

Will you sign our petition to encourage Speaker McCarthy and House Republicans to stand together and advance Rep. Steube's bill to protect female athletes and female sports?

Remember the story of swimmer Lia Thomas, formerly known as Will Thomas, who after three years competing on the University of Pennsylvania's men's swim team, switched to join the women's team in 2021. After joining the women's team, Thomas went from being ranked #464 in men's collegiate swimming to becoming a dominant #1 in women's swimming, robbing women of first-place finishes in race after race and shattering women's collegiate records.

Gender ideology has led to violence. During the 2022 NCAA finals, Riley Gaines, a swimmer from the University of Kentucky, tied with Lia Thomas for fifth place in the 200-yard freestyle. Despite the tie, the NCAA presented Thomas with the trophy, telling Gaines she would receive one in the mail. Since then, Gaines has traveled the country sounding the alarm about what is at stake for women. Earlier this month, Gaines was both physically and verbally attacked by activists while speaking at San Francisco State University. Gaines tweeted, "I was ambushed and physically hit twice by a man. This is proof that women need sex-protected spaces."

Title IX, enacted in 1972, was created, in part, to carve out a space for women in the athletic world. In 1972, only 300,000 women nationwide were involved in high school athletics. Today, estimates are that more than 3.2 million high school girls are involved in sports. At the collegiate level, there are almost 230,000 female athletes. These women have trained and practiced for countless hours to be competitive in their respective sports.

I invite you to sign the petition below. We will deliver these petitions to Speaker McCarthy so that he knows of the many people across the country who are standing with him and House Republicans as they prepare to vote on and advance this important legislation.

Standing (Eph. 6:13),

Tony Perkins

Petition to Speaker McCarthy and House Republicans

Speaker McCarthy and House Republicans,

I applaud you for taking up Rep. Steube's bill, The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act (H.R. 734), and stand with you as you and House Republicans try to bring sanity back to women's sports. This dangerous agenda of the Left must be stopped!

Women's sports are under attack today. Men are robbing female athletes of their privacy, safety, and opportunity.

Our daughters, granddaughters, and nieces work hard to become proficient athletes - they shouldn't have to worry about unfair competition from biological men.

Thank you for advancing this bill and exposing the dangerous and destructive agenda of President Biden and the Democrat Party!
