Team — I’m sorry to add to your Monday morning inbox, but my team just did the math and we have a lot of work to do to catch up to our April fundraising goal.
Whether we meet our goal or not will inform some pretty big campaign decisions — from our future TV ad budget to our GOTV operation — so my team and I are taking it seriously.
If you know you’re with us and able to pitch in a few dollars, then here is a link to do so (thank you!). [[link removed]] But if you need more context about what I’m fighting for and why this next election is so consequential, I completely understand that as well, so please keep reading.
Unlike a lot of my colleagues in Congress, I’ve lived the challenges that many families are facing today firsthand. I know what it’s like having your family upended by the tragedy of substance use disorder. And I know that it’s like having to scratch and claw your way to make ends meet — like so many Americans are doing at this very moment.
This campaign is about leveling the playing field and fighting for opportunities for regular people. It’s about shrinking the gap between the haves and have-nots. It’s about protecting the rights that are increasingly coming under attack right now by the GOP: like the right to vote, the right to choose, and the right to live openly as who you are.
I’ve been serving in Congress for just about 100 days now, and in that time I’ve worked hard to tackle challenges big and small for my constituents. From fighting for abortion rights, to fixing the postal service issues in our district, to helping people get the Social Security and veterans benefits they’re entitled to, I promise that I will always fight for you and your families as hard as I possibly can.
But whether I’m able to continue serving in Congress for years to come — or whether we allow the GOP to flip this seat red — will depend on how hard we fight to keep this seat. And this is one of those moments where your support really matters.
Team, I don’t enjoy having to ask for money, but it’s one of the unfortunate realities of our fight to keep this seat and retake control of the House. So if you can pitch in any amount to help us get back on track for our April fundraising goal — whether it’s $1 or $100 or somewhere in between — I would be profoundly grateful. [[link removed]]
