Hi Friend,
Last Friday was a BIG deadline for bills heard over the past 70 days to
make it out of their first Committee. Luckily, some of our biggest
priority bills related to gun violence prevention, reproductive freedom,
and lowering prescription drug costs made it through this first big
hurdle!
However, we've still got 50 more days to advance progressive legislation
in Nevada, and several more key deadlines to go. This next phase of the
legislative session, from now through April 25th, will be the chance for
bills to make it past a full vote of the house they were introduced in --
unless they are exempt from deadlines, all Assembly Bills need to pass via
a vote by the full Assembly and all Senate bills need to pass a vote by
the full Senate.
Given this next upcoming deadline on April 25, committee hearings will
take a back seat to Floor Sessions in which bills will be voted on. But
you can and must continue to make your voice heard! Check out what's on
deck this week below and follow the steps to tell Carson City legislators
that you care about these critical issues for our state!
Watch for a mid-week update as more bills, and some committees, continue
to be scheduled!
