John, Join us in D.C. on Earth Day to demand an end to the fossil fuel era.
The science is clear: To stave off the most drastic effects of climate change, we have to end fossil fuel use now. And the United States produces more oil and gas than any other country.
President Biden has the power to change that. But despite his promises to end oil and gas leasing on federal lands, last year he signed a bill into law pairing historic investments in renewables with mandated leasing of public lands and waters for fossil fuel development. In March he approved the Willow oil-drilling project in the fragile Alaskan Arctic. And he continues to advance fracked gas export terminals in the overburdened Gulf.
Organizations working for justice of all kinds are uniting in Freedom Plaza on Saturday, April 22 at noon for a mass mobilization calling on Biden to bring an end to the era of fossil fuels. The Center’s Energy Justice Director Jean Su will speak, and we’ll have a booth where you can pick up stickers and meet the Center team. We’re fighting for systemic change — there’s no time to waste. Are you in?
RSVP to let us know you can make it. Sincerely, |
