NAFCU, trades flag credit repair scams for lawmakers

NAFCU and several other trade groups sent a letter to the House Financial Services Committee warning of “the increasing threat credit repair scams pose to consumers and the credit markets.” The groups asked lawmakers to modernize the Credit Repair Organizations Act to ensure effective consumer protections.

FHFA issues notice of reg review

The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) issued a request for comment Friday as it begins a regulatory review. The agency is seeking feedback on how its regulations could be more effective and less burdensome.

Retail sales fall again, economic headwinds picking up

Total retail sales decreased 1 percent in March after a drop of 0.2 percent in February. NAFCU Economist Noah Yosif analyzed the report in a new NAFCU Macro Data Flash report.
