I recently announced submission deadlines for the 2023 Congressional Art Competition. Since the competition began in 1982, over 650,000 high school students have participated in this nationwide event showcasing the incredible talent of our nation's young artists. I always look forward to witnessing the creativity and skill of Tenth District art students. It is an honor to continue the tradition of recognizing these talented students. Sponsoring Legislation to Make Highway 74 a Future Interstate

I am proud to join Congressman Chuck Edwards (NC-11) in sponsoring H.R. 2551, legislation to designate Highway 74 as a future interstate. This action will allow the North Carolina Department of Transportation to place corresponding signs along the corridor while the road is brought up to interstate standards. The future interstate designation is expected to attract new business in the Tenth District. Learn more about this legislation here.

Americans have long since moved on from the COVID pandemic and it’s past time that the government does, as well. Thanks to House Republicans, this week that finally happened as President Biden signed the resolution ending the national emergency three years after it began. House Republicans remain focused on combatting inflation, soaring energy costs, and the issues impacting Americans today. Hopefully President Biden will follow our lead on that as well.

The Biden Administration still refuses to accept responsibility for their disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. President Biden chose to withdraw on his timeline and the failures in planning and execution are his alone. Refusing to accept responsibility for his mistakes is an insult to the Americans who lost their lives.
