Hi there –
Using hydrogen as an energy source is an emerging technology that can be a tool for reducing emissions, meeting our climate goals, and creating family-sustaining jobs – but only if it’s done right and is strongly regulated.
Unfortunately, Pennsylvania legislators are considering moving forward with the worst forms of hydrogen production after hearing from oil and gas lobbyists, essentially creating fracking 2.0 into our economy.
Friend, we will have just one chance to develop the hydrogen industry, and to do so, we need to ensure that our legislators are educated about the impact of different forms of hydrogen production and only move forward with clean energy that brings Pennsylvania into the modern day.: [link removed]
The science and economic scalability of hydrogen production has not been fully proven. If we overbuild hydrogen infrastructure, it could translate into higher costs for ratepayers, which is something that working families and local businesses can’t afford at a time of sky-high inflation and runaway energy costs.
Pennsylvania deserves a balanced, well thought-out plan for the implementation of any new technologies. We can’t let hydrogen be fracking 2.0 where fossil fuel companies made up the rules as they want.
Let’s ensure that legislators are learning from experts to make the best choices for our communities and introducing truly sustainable practices. Take a moment to tell your lawmakers that you oppose rushing through a new hydrogen industry that puts powerful corporate interests ahead of hard-working families: [link removed]
