As an important part of our team, we wanted you to hear directly from the campaign about how we are putting your grassroots dollars to work, and how we are going to use your support to win the nomination. Read our strategy memo below and, if you can, donate $5 directly to our long-term strategy to secure the nomination for Joe Biden and defeat Donald Trump >>
Good morning from snowy Iowa, where we are 2 days away from the Caucus.
Vice President Biden has been crisscrossing the state this week doing what he does best: asking caucusgoers for their support, answering their questions, and laying out his vision for the country. We’ve seen proof throughout the campaign that the more people see of Joe, the more they know he's the person for the moment.
But as the Vice President has said many times: Monday’s contest begins the process, it doesn’t end it. And, it’s a process we are fully prepared and well-positioned to win.
With that in mind, we wanted to provide you a brief update on our plans as we look ahead.

1. WE HAVE A PATH TO VICTORY.
We’ve brought on top talent specializing in nationwide delegate strategy. The VP remains in a strong position to perform well in the first four states and on Super Tuesday, but we’re also planning for an extended process into the summer.
As we’ve said for several weeks, we see a tight race in Iowa and New Hampshire. With a small number of delegates awarded in those contests, it’s highly possible there will be a small delegate differential among the top candidates on February 4 and February 12. This only benefits Biden, who polls way ahead of the field in South Carolina and is uniquely situated to garner delegates on Super Tuesday.

2. YOUR SUPPORT IS HARD AT WORK.
We are grateful to all of you who have been with us from the beginning, and grateful to those of you who supported other candidates and are rallying around Biden. You’re committed to making Donald Trump a one-term president, and know that the VP is the best candidate to do it. That’s how primaries work, and we are excited that our team is growing.
All of this comes at the end of an already strong month of fundraising. The month of January will be the campaign’s strongest month of fundraising since launch, with the vast majority of our growth coming through digital grassroots donations.
Elections ultimately are not about money, they’re about having the right message and vision for the country. But you have to have the resources to compete, which we unequivocally do.
We’ve relied on online grassroots donations to get to this point, and we will continue to do so for the long primary ahead. Chip in $5 to drive Joe’s vision for the country through your powerful grassroots donations:

3. WE ARE A CAMPAIGN FOR EVERYONE.
Finally, we want to bring you up to speed on what the latest numbers show in Iowa and around the country.
We will be competitive in Iowa and Joe Biden will be the candidate in the best position to win the Democratic primary, based on his broad and diverse coalition giving him strength in other early states and nationally.
Critically, Biden outperforms the field in the states that are more reflective of the diversity of the overall Democratic primary electorate than Iowa and New Hampshire. According to the most recent polling averages from FiveThirtyEight.com, Biden leads in Nevada (24% Biden / 22% Sanders / 14% Warren / 6% Buttigieg) and enjoys a 20-point advantage in South Carolina (36% Biden / 16% Sanders / 10% Warren / 4% Buttigieg).
A victory in South Carolina will help bolster his support nationally, where he already leads the field by 6 points (27% Biden / 21% Sanders / 15% Warren / 7% Buttigieg). It will also give him a great deal of momentum heading into Super Tuesday, where the diverse makeup of the states – and the large share of Black voters, where he leads Sanders by 29 points nationally according to a recent poll by BlackPAC – already provide him with a structural advantage over the rest of the field.
Look, this campaign is powered by people from all over the country, from all different backgrounds. Not everyone can give to a presidential campaign, and certainly not every time we ask.
But if you can spare $5 today to chip in to this campaign we’ve built together, and power it for the next hundred days and beyond, we know there is a path to a new White House and a new chapter for America. Chip in $5 below:
