John, back in November of last year, one thing was clear: Abortion access was on the ballot.

When the fate of Arizonans’ reproductive rights were at risk, voters sent a message loud and clear at the ballot box that they wanted a Governor who would protect their fundamental rights.

Since then, I've stayed true to my campaign promise to veto any piece of legislation that targets abortion access and reproductive freedom.

Earlier this month, when the extreme Republican majority in our state legislature passed an anti-abortion bill disguised as legislation to protect victims of domestic violence, I vetoed it.

As someone who has worked with victims of domestic violence and advocated for their needs for years, and as someone with years of experience in Arizona's state legislature, I know a trojan horse bill when I see it — and so do local domestic violence organizations who opposed the sham bill.

It's disturbing to think Republicans would try to deceive voters with shady legislation like this, but this is the reality of their extremism and lack of respect for what Arizonans want from their elected officials.

This isn’t the first dangerous bill they’ve sent to my desk, and it surely won’t be the last, John.

The only way we can overcome their efforts is by sticking together, so please, pitch in today to support my work and help my team meet our mid-month fundraising goal of 250 individual grassroots donations.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

Just like my commitment to protecting reproductive rights, my appreciation and admiration for this grassroots team is unwavering. Thank you so much for the support.
