We’re now a quarter of the way through what people in campaigns call the “off-year,” but there’s no such thing as an “off-year” when it comes to running a strong campaign! We’re building the groundwork for 2024, because frankly, 2024 is so important.
This campaign is investing in the future of #TX07 and in the future of Texas. We’ve got a lot going on. As the political director, it’s my job to keep an eye on everything happening, and there is a lot to prepare for until November of 2024.
Primary Election. We won a competitive primary in 2018, defeating seven candidates in the primary and runoff elections in the spring. Building on that work, we won the general election that year–changing the balance of power in the House, and we won re-election in 2020 in one of the most competitive races in the country.
So far, three people have filed paperwork to challenge Lizzie and become the Democratic nominee for #TX07. That means, we will work as hard as we always have to talk to voters during the primary election about the great job Lizzie is doing for our district, and why we should send her back to Washington.
General Election. We will work just as hard in the general election to turn out the vote and make sure that we win #TX07, win back the majority in the House of Representatives, and send a Democrat from Texas to the U.S. Senate!
To do that, we are bringing on a group of fellows participating in Democracy Summer, working with clubs and organizations across our community, and talking to Texans every day about what is at stake in the 2024 elections.
We’re investing in the future of Texas. Whether it’s recruiting interns and volunteers, hiring staff, planning our field strategy, or running ads on TV, online, or through the mail—it all takes money.
Your contributions help us keep our campaign running strong from now through next year. Any amount you can contribute makes a difference.
Talk soon,
Collin
