Mifepristone is a critical medication that has been widely used by healthcare professionals for decades — with the stroke of a pen, a Trump-appointed Federal Judge in Texas moved to ban its use. Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin was asked his opinion on the decision the next day. This was his response:
“I don’t have much of an opinion.”
In yet another example of his lack of leadership, backbone, or empathy, Governor Youngkin has given Virginia voters another proof point of exactly how out of touch he is with his constituents on abortion rights and reproductive healthcare.
We probably shouldn’t be surprised, this is a man who hid his extreme stance on abortion during his campaign, got caught on tap admitting he wasn’t sharing his real position with the voters, and promised to “go on offense” to ban abortion in Virginia and since taking office has said he’d sign any abortion ban that comes across his desk into law with a smile.
Glenn Youngkin will ban abortion in Virginia in January 2024 if Virginia Democrats lose in November. That’s it folks, this is the ball game. Either Democrats win, hold our majority in the State Senate and re-take the House of Delegates, or Virginia Republicans will ban abortion in our Commonwealth.
We’re asking you to help us keep Virginia a pro-choice Commonwealth — we’re counting on your support. Can you rush a contribution to the Democratic Party of Virginia? We can prevent the worst from becoming a reality in Virginia, but we can’t do it without you.
Thank you
Democratic Party of Virginia
