Governor Glenn Youngkin celebrated the iconic LEGO Group manufacturing plant groundbreaking that will bring 1,761 new jobs to Chesterfield County, Virginia. The company will also construct a new 1.7 million-square-foot precision manufacturing facility in Meadowville Technology Park and invest more than $1 billion.

Manufacturing around the world wants to come to America, specifically Virginia. 

The LEGO Group searched all over the country and chose to come to the Commonwealth because we’re the best place to build a business, locate a factory, and chart a future.

The nation has its eye on Virginia because we’re successfully bringing conservative commonsense solutions to kitchen table issues, changing the direction of the Commonwealth. 

The Governor and First Lady welcomed the Chiefs of 11 Virginia Indian Tribes to the Executive Mansion for food and fellowship. It was a special opportunity to strengthen and show appreciation for the important relationship between the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Virginia State Tribes.

The Governor and First Lady visited Fairfax, VA, in early April as they continue to prioritize the needs of Virginia’s most vulnerable. They met with behavioral health leaders and lauded the works of Cameron’s Coffee & Chocolates, a business enterprise by the nonprofit Every1 Can Work that employs individuals with intellectual disabilities. At a separate stop, they visited Fairfax’s H Mart to discuss the cost of living and workforce preparedness with Asian business and community leaders.

This week, Governor Youngkin provided an update on the Partnership for Petersburg across six primary areas that are essential pillars to creating a thriving Petersburg. Governor Youngkin also participated in a ribbon cutting for a new Virginia Community Resource Center.

Governor Youngkin announced a record value for Virginia’s agricultural and forestry exports as he unveiled the 2022 export data at the Virginia Inland Port facility in Richmond.

Newly released data by the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) values Virginia’s 2022 agricultural and forestry exports at more than $5.1 billion dollars. The 2022 export total eclipses the previous record set in 2021 by 25%, which totaled more than $4 billion.

Governor Youngkin welcomed a group of students and faculty from Virginia Tech during the Virginia General Assembly’s reconvene session and spoke to the importance of finding commonsense solutions on behalf of 8.7 million Virginians.
