John,

May 1, the deadline to register voters ahead of the May 16 primary election, is getting closer and closer. While we have been out on the ground across the Commonwealth since January registering voters in our centered communities, we need to expand our efforts and pack even more community events and canvasses into these next 16 days.

Community events and voter registration drives like these are vital to our community outreach – and they’re one of the main ways we turn your donations directly into voter outreach, engagement, and registration. Just this week, our Regional Organizing Director from Philadelphia, Carrie Fowler, registered 14 high school seniors who will be eligible to vote in the May 16 primary election!

With the voter registration deadline right around the corner, we can’t wait until the end of the month to hit our fundraising goals – we need to start nearing our $4,000 end-of-month goal ASAP. Can you pitch in $10 by midnight tonight to help us stay on track and organize more voter registration and community events?

We know and have witnessed the ways in which underrepresented and often neglected young, immigrant, Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color have been denied the fundamental right to vote. Events like these are crucial to overcoming those obstacles and tapping into the core of our communities.

With even more attacks on our democracy and our voting rights coming soon in the upcoming PA Supreme Court and local election board elections, our work is as vital as ever. Will you help us continue to defend them by donating $10 right now?

The New Pennsylvania Project was founded in May 2021 to expand Pennsylvania’s electorate, so it reflects the Commonwealth’s demographically changing population. In the next four years, NPP will engage and empower young residents and those living in underrepresented immigrant communities and communities of color. We register communities to vote, provide civic education about the issues that matter in their neighborhoods, and mobilize Pennsylvanians to vote in every election.
