John, right-wing bad actors like Tucker Carlson, Fox News — even Joe Rogan — aren’t putting the best interests of their viewers and our democracy first. For them, it’s all about profit. Just take a look at the numbers:
Carlson’s show, Tucker Carlson Tonight, which has championed Trump’s Big Lie and spews divisive, hateful rhetoric is estimated to generate over $1 billion in ads revenue for Fox News.1
And Joe Rogan, whose podcast has been a deep source of COVID misinformation reaching millions of listeners, is estimated to earn $100,000 per episode.2
John, the numbers make it clear: for these bad actors, it’s in their best interest to spread sensational and controversial news — even at the expense of the truth.
