Folks, last week an extremist judge in Texas shamefully blocked Mifepristone – a safe, FDA-approved, abortion pill.
Our administration here in New York immediately responded and is already working with the State Legislature to safeguard abortion medications in case the ban remains permanent. We have ordered state officials to stockpile a 5-year supply of an alternative abortion medication, misoprostol, to ensure New Yorkers continue to have access to the medication they need and deserve.
I am devastated to hear of the judge’s ruling. It sets a reckless and dangerous precedent and it highlights why we need strong leaders who will protect abortion at every level of government.
The good news is abortion access will remain easily available in New York regardless of this ruling. But we can’t become complacent – we need to keep fighting at every turn.
Friend, with reproductive healthcare under attack across the country, I’m asking you to take 30 seconds to sign our petition:
Will you join me in the fight to protect abortion by signing my petition now? With your help, we can keep New York a shining beacon for all. »
Thank you,
Antonio Delgado
Lt. Gov. of New York
