ProPublica reports that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas did not
disclose a $133,000 real estate sale to the same Republican billionaire
that for 20 years lavished him with millions of dollars of luxury yacht
rides, private jet travel, and resort vacations.

According to the report, this is “the first known instance of money
flowing from the Republican mega-donor to the Supreme Court justice” and
appears to violate an anti-corruption law requiring federal officials --
including Justices -- to report real estate sales over $1,000.

Earlier this week, Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee asked Chief
Justice John Roberts to investigate. But that’s not enough. For years,
John Roberts has maintained that Supreme Court Justices are exempt from
ethics rules that apply to all other federal judges. This should be
handled by the U.S. Senate.

[ [link removed] ]SIGN THE PETITION TO CONGRESS: “This Supreme Court is increasingly
facing a legitimacy crisis, which is made larger by Clarence Thomas's
latest ethics scandal. The U.S. Senate must launch an investigation into
Thomas and take steps to pass legislation requiring strong ethics for our
Supreme Court.

We speak frequently with the media, key allies in Congress, and the White
House and we will share the support for this petition with them.

Thanks for being a bold progressive.
