Hi John,

I’m bumping my team’s message for you, because it’s crucial.

New stats show that gun deaths among America’s kids rose 50% in the last two years. More children and teens were killed by guns in 2021 than in any year since 1999, the first year the CDC began tracking the data.

Republicans categorically refuse to take any action to curb gun violence, making it clear with every “thoughts and prayers” that they believe guns should have more rights than people.

We cannot let this continue, John. We need action now. Sign on if you agree→ [[link removed]]

Be well,

Ami

Original message from my team:

John —

Ami wanted to touch base after so many mass shootings have already taken place this week.

Democrats are focused on finding solutions to this terrifying issue, but the sad fact is most Republicans still refuse to work with us on this major public health crisis.

Case in point: When three members of the state legislature protested against this issue in Tennessee, they were all immediately up for expulsion by their GOP colleagues and two—the two Black members—were removed. Once again, the GOP is choosing the gun lobby over everyone else.

Look, people are rightly fed up with the constant stress of gun violence. That’s why we need to take action. Will you sign on in the next 48 hours to take a stand? [[link removed]]

When Democrats held the majority, we passed a landmark gun violence prevention measure into law. Now, with Republicans in control, they’ve refused to work with us to solve this problem.

Ami and his colleagues are never going to let up on this, especially as new stats show that one in twenty-five American kindergarteners will not make it to age 40.

John, not only is gun violence killing too many Americans every day, doctors and nurses across the country have to see too many people coming in from gun-related incidences.

It should not be normal to see kids who should be learning to ride their bikes or teens who should be planning for their futures in the ICU with gun injuries.

We need a mandate from our supporters to prove we’re not backing down. Please add your name by midnight tomorrow to have your name included. [[link removed]]
