COVID-19. Pandemic. Gain-of-function. Coronavirus. Wuhan lab.
Taxpayer, the FBI and Energy Dept. recently confirmed that ANIMAL TESTING at the Wuhan lab likely caused the COVID pandemic.
Yet, as of today, the Wuhan lab is still eligible to receive your U.S. tax $ for dangerous gain-of-function experiments on animals that can cause pandemics.
So I’m writing you today.
Following our investigation, Reps. Buddy Carter (R-GA), Henry Cuellar (D-TX), and Mike Gallagher (R-WI) have just crossed party lines to re-introduce the Pausing Enhanced Pandemic Pathogen Research Act. It would halt taxpayer funding for Wuhan-style experiments for the next five years.
CONTACT CONGRESS: To prevent the next pandemic, we must permanently end taxpayer funding for dangerous and cruel gain-of-function experiments on animals.
Exactly three years ago this week, just as COVID-19 became an emergency, the White Coat Waste Project (WCW) released an investigation that shocked the world.
We first discovered how the National Institutes of Health (NIH), under the direction of Dr. Anthony Fauci, was secretly funneling American tax dollars to the Wuhan lab for horrible animal experiments through a shady non-profit called EcoHealth Alliance [PAYOUT #R01AI110964].
Taxpayer, this was no ordinary WCW investigation. And these were no ordinary animal experiments.
These were GAIN-OF-FUNCTION experiments — incredibly dangerous experiments that involve deliberately making a natural animal virus even more infectious and deadlier to humans.
In fact, from 2014 until 2017, U.S. white coats were banned from conducting gain-of-function experiments because the government believed they were simply too dangerous.
So, Dr. Fauci quietly lifted the gain-of-function ban and began outsourcing his dirty work to the Wuhan lab, home of some of the world’s worst animal abusers.
Funded by NIH foreign aid, Wuhan white coats:

Captured wild coronavirus-infected bats, punched holes in their sensitive wings, and transported them back to the lab.

Then, they extracted the bats’ deadly coronaviruses…

Genetically engineered the germs to make them even deadlier…

And injected these super-charged pathogens into “humanized mice.”
But don’t take my word for it:
And voilà! Animal testing opened the door for airborne transmission and the direct infection of humans… and you paid the bill, Taxpayer.
Taxpayer, just six days after WCW launched this historic investigation, the President canceled NIH payout #R01AI110964. He even called it a “tremendous WASTE in the government!”
While we are very proud of this victory, cutting this single grant isn’t enough.
Taxpayer, government white coats are still authorized to waste millions on gain-of-function — including at the Wuhan lab and 27 other labs in China!
This should TERRIFY you, Taxpayer!
The original SARS and H1N1 also escaped from animal labs in China and other countries and killed people on an international scale.
And the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) just confirmed our findings that NIH is wasting your money on these labs with no oversight.
Supercharging potential pandemic pathogens is NOT a risk worth taking, especially when that risk involves mutilating countless innocent animals on your dime.
