Rep. Troy E. Nehls Tours Energy Transfer Facility Greetings! I wanted to take a moment to share with you a recap on what happened last week in Texas' 22nd District and the United States House of Representatives. This Week in Washington Rep. Troy E. Nehls Tours Energy Transfer Facility I was glad to be joined by my friend, Congressman Dan Meuser, along with members of the Energy Transfer team in Pennsylvania at the Energy Transfer plant in Marcus Hook, for a tour and roundtable discussion. Energy Transfer produces clean and safe energy, and we learned about the transferability of natural gas liquids from the U.S. to global markets. Thank you for having us! Rep. Troy E. Nehls Tours Fort Worth & Western Railroad I had the opportunity to tour the Fort Worth & Western Railroad (FWWR) facility in Fort Worth, Texas, a class III short line that operates over 276 miles of track through eight counties in North Central Texas. We had detailed conversations about railroad operating practices and equipment, along with discussions about legislation in Congress regarding rail safety. Rep. Troy E. Nehls Tours Herzog & TrinityRail As the Chairman of the Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines and Hazardous Materials, I am committed to learning the ins and outs of the rail industry. I had the opportunity to visit with two rail manufacturing companies in North Texas, Herzog Technologies, Inc. (HTI) and TrinityRail of Trinity Industries. HTI is focused on providing innovative technology-based solutions to the railroad industry, from planning operations of basic engineering to complex system integration. During the tour of the facilities, I was able to learn about the importance of safety and the economic benefits that HTI provides to the state of Texas. Trinity Industries is a leading provider of rail transportation products and services in North America. Their TrinityRail platform provides railcar leasing and management services, as well as railcar manufacturing, maintenance and modifications. I was able to walk through the plant with their employees to learn more about their manufacturing and modifying capabilities on tank cars. This Week in TX-22 The Office of Rep. Troy E. Service Academy Nominations Are Now Open My office is now accepting Service Academy Nominations. One of the privileges of serving in the United States House of Representatives is the opportunity to nominate outstanding young people from the 22nd Congressional District of Texas to be considered for appointment to our nation’s service academies. Admission to a service academy is a two-tiered process. First, the candidate must meet the minimum standards set by the individual academy. Second, the candidate must complete the congressional application by October 6, 2023, to be considered for an interview in our office with the nomination review board. Please note, the ultimate selection of appointees rests solely with academy officials and is based on their competitive evaluation of all nominees. The checklist and application can be found on my website. If you have any questions, please email [email protected] or call my district office at 346-762-6600.
