Dear Friend,
As if yesterday wasn’t hard enough, we woke up this morning to the news that Ron DeSantis signed the near-total abortion ban. He did this in the middle of the night, while we were asleep, because he knows how incredibly cruel and unpopular this bill is with Floridians. If that’s not the height of cowardice, I don’t know what is. Despite this bill being fast tracked through the legislature and signed into law, abortion is still legal in Florida up to 15 weeks — and will remain so until the Florida Supreme Court rules on a challenge to the 15 week ban which we expect sometime this summer. If you or someone you know needs an abortion, reach out at 1-800-230-PLAN or visit abortionfinder.org. What can you do now? -
Thank our reproductive rights champions who sponsored more than 50 amendments and debated this heinous bill for over 6 hours. You can find a list of the amendments and sponsors here and more details in this Twitter thread.
- Join Planned Parenthood’s Virtual Day of Action, tomorrow Saturday 4/15 from 12-1pm with Congressman Maxwell Frost, State Representative Anna Eskamani, and reproductive rights leaders from across the state.

Make sure you’re registered to vote and your registration is up to date. Republicans have made a number of changes to Florida’s voting laws, one of which requires mail voters to request their mail ballot every general election cycle. Visit the Division of Elections website and click on your county to check your mail ballot status.
And most of all, take care of yourself. This has been an incredibly difficult week, and we’re all feeling the weight of it. But this fight is far from over and we need your support for the long haul.
Thanks for all you do. Onward, |
