John,
This afternoon, the Supreme Court put a Texas ruling attacking abortion medication nationwide on hold until next Wednesday. Therefore, changes to access to mifepristone will not go into effect tomorrow. Please refer to your local or state-wide abortion providers for up-to-date information surrounding available care.
And remember: abortion medication is safe, no matter what anti-choice judges claim.
We don't know what Wednesday will hold for this case. We do know, however, that every person deserves the freedom to control their own bodies, which includes the freedom to decide if, when, and whether to grow or start a family. Medication abortion — which has a 20-year track record of being safe and effective — is vital to our freedom.
During the last week, we've experienced a flurry of attacks on abortion medication — including two opposing rulings that would have made the patchwork of access even more extreme and confusing across the country.
This confusion is by design. Anti-abortion judges continue to try to create a world where providers, patients, and even attorneys don’t understand what care is available. It’s part of their plan.
And even beyond Wednesday, we know anti-choice judges and legislators will continue their efforts to restrict access to medication abortion care as part of their agenda to ban abortion nationwide.
John, stand with us and add your name urging the FDA to use its enforcement discretion to allow mifepristone to remain on the market.
Thank you for being a part of this fight,
#VOTEPROCHOICE
