John,
The NRA begins their annual meeting today, where the “nation's top Second Amendment leaders” will push their ‘guns everywhere’ agenda. It's the second year in a row that the meeting follows a mass shooting with an assault weapon.
Only four days ago, a gunman with an AR-15-style rifle killed five people in Louisville, KY.
Three weeks ago, a gunman with an assault rifle killed three children and three adults in Nashville, TN.
Last year, the NRA held their meeting in Texas only three days after 19 children and two adults were killed by a gunman with an AR-15.
While the NRA ignores these tragedies and rallies their base and pocket-politicians, we’re calling on 5,000 grassroots activists to speak out louder than their deadly rhetoric and call for lifesaving action. ADD YOUR NAME to our urgent petition and demand that Congress pass common sense gun violence prevention legislation and save lives. >> [[link removed]]

This year, the NRA meeting is being held in Indianapolis, IN, a permitless carry state without universal background checks or an assault weapons ban. It was in this city, two years ago, that a gunman with an AR-15-style rifle killed eight people at a FedEx facility.
Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb is scheduled to speak – he failed to take action after the mass shooting.
Indiana Senator Mike Braun will speak – he voted against the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act and has received $1.3 million from the NRA throughout his career.
And the list of negligent, reckless politicians smiling in the face of tragedy does not stop there, John. Other speakers include:
Longtime NRA Executive VP Wayne LaPierre , who has led the NRA’s ‘guns everywhere’ agenda for three decades; Former President Donald Trump , whom the NRA endorsed in 2016 and who packed the Supreme Court with the judges who ruled in favor of Second Amendment extremism; Governor Ron DeSantis , the NRA darling who just made Florida the 26th state to allow permitless carry.
We cannot allow these Second Amendment extremists to spread lies and policies that put us at risk. We know that the majority of Americans want our lawmakers to take action to address our gun violence epidemic – that's why we're asking you to speak out today: Will you add your name to our urgent petition and tell Congress that we need common sense gun violence prevention legislation NOW? >> [[link removed]]
