John --
The first Social Security check was issued exactly 80 years ago today. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt was able to push through a program that countless retirees, differently-abled folks, and survivors now rely on.
It's impossible to overstate the impact our social insurance program has had on the lives of all Americans throughout this country. But this incredible victory is in the sights of Trump and the GOP this election. Because of their bloated and fiscally irresponsible 2017 tax reform legislation, the deficit has rapidly ballooned and now these fiscal conservatives are arguing for fiscal restraint. It really is the height of hypocrisy and we need to fight back in 2020.
I need your help to meet my $7,000 end-of-month fundraising goal by midnight tonight because it's not only about my race. It's crucial we secure the necessary resources to protect our House majority, flip the Senate, and send a Democrat to the White House this November. That's how we get life-changing programs that help working Americans: booting out the puppet politicians more interested in pleasing their dark money donors than the people they were elected to represent.
We still have $1,956 to go -- but I know we'll get there with your help, John. Whether you can afford $3 or $30 or even $300, every single dollar will help us paint Washington blue this November. Chip in any amount before MIDNIGHT tonight here:
