We wanted to update you on some new information about our 2023 DSA-LA Annual Convention, and to answer some commonly asked questions from the last email!
🚨 We've had a location change! Same great time, same great convention, but a new venue. Come meet us instead at the beautiful Los Angeles City College in East Hollywood, just a few blocks away from the Vermont/Santa Monica Metro Stop. We'll be meeting at the Student Union building in their multipurpose room.
👶 We will be offering child care! It's extremely important to us that everybody can participate, and we know that finding childcare can be a hurdle towards attending,. So we're excited to announce that child watch volunteers are providing on-site support to make convention more accessible to parents, families, and caregivers. If you're interested, please sign up!
🗳️ Can't make it? You can still participate! We know that not everybody can make it in-person to our convention, but that doesn't mean their voice is excluded. We will have a proxy system, where another member in attendance can vote for another member who cannot. Please sign up if you have somebody who can act your proxy!
🥪 Yes, we will have vegan food options available! We don't want anybody feel hungry - we're excited to offer free lunch, coffee, and breakfast snacks.
We know that free time, and especially Saturdays, are extremely valuable reprieves from work. That said, please take that time and come to convention! We promise that being part of the democratic process and building a movement together is extremely satisfying and will leave you motivated and excited! Also, it's FUN! So please, come join us!
