Mississippians and all Americans are tired of paying for higher energy prices. It is time to unleash American energy. Recently, the House passed, with my support, H.R. 1, The Lower Energy Costs Act. This important legislation would repeal all restrictions on the import and export of natural gas, repeal fee increases on energy production, and prohibit President Biden from banning hydraulic fracturing. Mississippi's 2023 First Congressional District Art Competition is a great opportunity to showcase our talented young people. The deadline to submit artwork is Monday, April 17. We look forward to seeing the submissions again this year. The winner of the First District competition receives two round-trip airline tickets to attend the national awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. The winner of each congressional district will have their artwork displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol. For details, please click HERE. I am pleased to announce that Emma Hatcher has joined Team Kelly as our Staff Assistant and Legislative Correspondent. Emma is the first person you will meet when you visit our Washington, D.C., office. Her duties include oversight of letters and emails that we receive from our constituents. "I have had a long-standing interest in administration and policy," Emma said. "I respect the level of integrity that Congressman Kelly has demonstrated as an individual in government as well as his military experience through the years. Congressman Kelly seeks what is best for Mississippians. It is an honor to serve as a staff member for his team."
