Hi there! It’s Olivia, Ayanna’s Finance Director.
Yesterday, our team reached out to you about our goal to raise $15,000 by tomorrow's mid-month deadline. We're so grateful to everyone who stepped up and chipped in $5 or $15, but unfortunately, we're still behind where we need to be.
The truth is, our fundraising has been slower than expected this month. But that's not slowing Ayanna down. Here's just some of what Ayanna's been up to this month:
→ Ayanna started out the month traveling to Chicago to help get out the vote for Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson — a former public school teacher with a progressive vision for justice.
→ Ayanna kept up her legislative work — calling on the Department of Transportation to address racial disparities in traffic enforcement and penning a letter — with Senator Elizabeth Warren — to SoFi demanding answers about their greedy effort to end the student loan payment pause.
→ And, after last Friday's federal ruling put the future of mifepristone in jeopardy, Ayanna made clear that we'll keep up the fight to ensure people are able to access medication abortion.
I just did the math, and if two people from xxxxxx chip in to this email, we can get back on track to hit our critical $15,000 mid-month fundraising goal and help Ayanna keep up her important work.
Thank you so much for your support,
Olivia Roskill
Finance Director
