But first, please let me explain why your early support is so crucial:

Last year, when the far-right Supreme Court decided to strike down over 50 years of settled law with the overturning of Roe v. Wade , we knew that millions of women all across the nation would be forced to deal with the consequences.

Just last week, a Trump-appointed Texas judge ruled in favor of anti-choice extremists to suspend the FDA's approval of mifepristone – a pill used in medication abortions. As access to safe, non-surgical reproductive care remains in limbo, anti-choice legislators and judges have proven just how determined they are to lay the groundwork for a total abortion ban.

Look, team, I know the uncertainty surrounding the future of reproductive rights is a personal and unnerving issue for folks all across our district, state, and country.

But let me be clear: I will never stop fighting to protect reproductive freedom. I will always be proud to stand by the majority of Americans, and Washingtonians, who support the fundamental right to choose. I will continue fighting to pass the Women's Health Protection Act through the House. But with Republicans holding onto a razor-thin majority, it could take some time, and it's not going to be easy.

Here's the bottom line: Elections have consequences. And we need to do everything we can to work toward taking back our House majority to codify the right to reproductive freedom. But change doesn't happen overnight. If we're going to defend reproductive rights, we'll need to start building power now to prepare for a tough election in 2024.

I have always believed that health care decisions should be left between a person and their doctor – and so do a majority of Americans.
