John, with the number of antisemitic incidents in the U.S. at the highest levels ever tracked by ADL, now is the time to take action.

Today, ADL is launching

#LearnToNeverForget, a campaign to improve and expand Holocaust education — the single most effective, proven lever for fighting antisemitism, yet mandated in only 25 states.

We need your help to make it happen.

Education on the Holocaust instills more in students than facts and figures. ADL’s studies have shown that people whose schools taught specifically about the Holocaust harbor less antisemitic prejudice than those who learned about the Holocaust elsewhere.

Individuals who have had education on the topic of the Holocaust also show higher rates of critical thinking and a greater willingness to challenge intolerant behavior. Collectively, this helps to build a better society.

The challenge is that that basic knowledge about the Holocaust is severely lacking. Surveys by

the ADL Center for Antisemitism Research show that those who know basic information about the Holocaust were significantly less likely to believe in antisemitic ideas. Yet more than half of those surveyed from ages 18-30 could not accurately identify that six million Jews were murdered in the Holocaust.

Together, let’s ensure every student in the United States learns about the Holocaust because today’s learners may be the key to preventing tomorrow’s tragedies.

We can make this happen! In a recent ADL survey, 91% of those surveyed agreed that high school students should learn about the Holocaust, and 88% agreed that high schools should be required to teach about the Holocaust. Support was high across the political spectrum, with strong majorities of respondents from all ideological tendencies supporting Holocaust education mandates.

HOW YOU CAN HELP MAKE #LearnToNeverForget HAPPEN

We ask you to join us in advocating for the passage of H.R. 603, the

Holocaust Education & Antisemitism Lessons Act (H.E.A.L.), in Congress, as well as state and local Holocaust education legislation.

We are raising awareness among policymakers and supporters, building coalitions with diverse partners, organizing grassroots advocacy meetings with lawmakers, gathering petition letters to deliver to legislators, publishing research on these issues, and providing recommendations for Holocaust education curricula along with coalition partners.

Please take a minute to urge your legislators to become a co-sponsor; it can make a huge impact and help get this vital legislation to the finish line. Fill out the form and urge your friends and family to join you.
