Team,
Following the Dobbs decision last June overturning Roe V. Wade, it's estimated that 40% of active duty women serving in the United States face limited or no access to abortion services where they are stationed.
Military servicemembers have absolutely no say in where they are stationed, even if their duty station is in a state that restricts access to reproductive health care.
That’s why Senator Warner and 37 of his Democratic colleagues are pushing the Secretary of Defense to make sure reproductive healthcare access is taken into account when stationing active-duty women.
If you agree that active-duty women deserve the ability to access the full spectrum of reproductive rights, sign Senator Warner’s petition right now to urge our government to take these restrictions into consideration when making personnel decisions. [link removed]
Protecting our servicemembers’ access to reproductive care is a national security imperative.
The reality is state laws prohibiting the right of servicemembers to make their own decisions about their health care won’t stop them from needing or seeking care – abortion bans only force them to travel farther to states that haven’t restricted abortion, jeopardizing the health and overall readiness of the military. While we work to defend and restore reproductive rights for all Americans, we need to make sure the health of military members and their families is not at further risk.
Add your name now to demand that our servicemembers not be forced to risk their personal health and safety for routine health care because they pledged to protect our nation. [link removed]
Thank you,
Team Warner
