This is amazing news, team: The Biden administration just expanded eligibility for health care through the Affordable Care Act to DACA recipients.
This is a major victory for DACA recipients and their families that is the direct result of years of tenacious organizing. Having good reliable health care is a human need, and this rule change will mean that more people will have the life saving health care coverage they need to take care of themselves and their families.
While this is an important step, millions of other undocumented people without DACA still lack access to life saving health care.
The only fix is citizenship for all 11 million.
That’s why we are demanding President Biden and Congress not only protect DACA recipients, but deliver a pathway to citizenship for all 11 million undocumented people.

As a result of tenacious organizing by immigrant youth and allies, hundreds of thousands of people will be able to access vital and lifesaving health insurance.
We all contribute to the health care programs so it was unconscionable that DACA recipients were barred from eligibility for ACA, Medicaid and other government subsidized health care.
Going to the doctor for an annual check-up or when you’re sick is a human need. Unfortunately, for far too many people, especially undocumented people, affordable health insurance is often inaccessible or outright denied. This new rule will ensure that people with DACA are no longer denied health care coverage by being able to buy insurance through the Affordable Care Act marketplace.
But even after this victory, there are still millions of undocumented people who don’t qualify for DACA and still lack access to decent, affordable health care.
