Dear John,

This is urgent. Millions of people could soon be losing much-needed care services as states begin to unwind their Medicaid coverage for people who became eligible during the pandemic. I’m disheartened and scared for the future of care in our country.

Cutting Medicaid coverage could be a crisis level event for our already weak care programs. Seven million people across the country rely on home- and community-based services through Medicaid. In fact, it’s one of the main ways that families like mine can access much needed in-home care. That’s why we’re fighting to protect and expand Medicaid and to make sure everyone who needs care has access to it.

You can support the fight to save Medicaid with a donation right now. Even $15 can help us reach the highest halls of power to protect and better our federal care programs. [[link removed]]

As a caregiver, I know how important Medicaid coverage is. When my mother and I were caring for my grandmother, it took us over five years to get my grandmother qualified for Medicaid. When Medicaid coverage kicked in, it was the only way to get the home care she needed.

The cost of private home care is prohibitively expensive to most people – including my family. With Medicaid coverage, we had peace of mind that she was well cared for and supported by a professional so that we could continue to earn and provide for our family.

We cannot afford to lose the little bit of security that we already have – and why we all must fight to stop extremists in Congress from cutting Medicaid by as much as 2 trillion dollars during the debt ceiling negotiations.

A $15 donation can go a long way in telling Congress cuts to Medicaid are off the table. Please, make your gift today. [[link removed]]

We’re advocating with elected leaders at all levels to ensure that they know just how important federal care programs are to people like you and me. And we’re not alone. In the last few months, we’ve seen President Biden speak out publicly about the importance of care, as elected officials and partner organizations join the fight to save Medicaid. We’re all working together to expand Medicaid – not cut it – and that’s where we need your support.

Thank you for everything you do to support care,
