Did you hear about this? Last week, the Head Coach of the San Antonio Spurs, Gregg Popovich, went on a crazed rant and attacked me for my plan to double the number of armed law enforcement in schools to protect our kids. He also trashed one of our most fundamental Constitutional rights: our Second Amendment.
Greg Popovich made his bizarre remarks at an official NBA news conference before the regular season finale against the Dallas Mavericks. He stated:
“You know, the myth of the Second Amendment, the freedom, you know, it’s just, it’s a myth. It’s a joke. It’s just a game they play…I mean, that’s freedom. Is it? Freedom for kids to go to school and try to socialize and try to learn and be scared to death, that they might die that day, but Ted Cruz will fix it cause he is gonna double the number of cops in schools…do we want that?”
Yes, Greg, I do want that. I want to protect our kids and our Constitutional Rights!
Look - I’m not surprised by his attacks on me. Popovich has been an agitated lefty partisan for a long time. He’s a liberal Democrat…and, of course, he is protected by armed law enforcement each game. But he is triggered that I want the same protection for kids?
Yikes…
The fact that he went after me in his little rant for proposing that we double the number of police officers in schools…is just insane! As you know, this is the typical backwards logic of the Democrat Party as it continues to tilt towards mindless rage at common sense.
But I won’t stop pushing for more armed law enforcement in our schools to protect kids. And I won’t stop fighting against the harmful political goals of foolish leftists.
