The filing deadline for the Virginia primaries just passed and now it is official: The GOP is poised to send some of the most far-right, pro-gun General Assembly candidates we’ve ever seen to the primary elections in June.

Many of the same lawmakers who are pushing to repeal red flag laws, remove background check requirements, and expand access to guns in the Commonwealth will sail through the primaries to the November election unopposed. Some Republicans, like the delegate who told the families of victims of gun violence that legislation wouldn’t fix anything, are taking their fight to the state Senate.

Virginia has a choice this year. We can stop the gun lobby and Virginia Republicans in their tracks and elect a Democratic majority in both houses of the General Assembly. Contribute $5 now to help Mark make it happen.
