This is why we must elect more Republicans Friend, Today the Massachusetts House completely disregarded the will of the people. As I wrote yesterday, the House proposed a tax relief bill that alters Chapter 62F law that allowed Governor Baker to send $3 billion back to the taxpayers. Instead of taxpayers getting a percentage based on what they paid to the state, the Democrats want to send just a flat rate check to everyone. It is a redistribution of wealth. As Rep. Cusack said on the House floor today, “Everyone shares in the wealth.” It is not fair. Your refund should be based on what you pay! Their alterations changes the law from a refund into a government handout. Rep. Jones’ amendment to delete the language lost 26 to 128. This is why we need to elect more Republicans to Beacon Hill. Please consider this reason 1 and 2 to run for State Representative. Members who voted against the amendment don’t respect the will of the voters. Members who voted against this amendment don’t believe you deserve a refund based on what you paid. Once again, Beacon Hill has showed us that they don’t respect us and our hard work to pay taxes.
