You’ve probably seen the numerous stories we’ve published lately about Texas public schools. We’ve covered news of scandals in districts all over the state for several months!
Just last week, we covered newly released Texas Education Agency data for the 2022-23 school year. Five superintendents in Texas will make more than $400,000, and another 72 are slated to bank at least $300,000 – all of which are their base salaries! That doesn’t include lucrative taxpayer-funded benefits like housing and vehicle allowances.
These numbers are mind-boggling.
The state Legislature is in the midst of determining how your tax dollars will be spent for the next two years.
While real Texans suffer from rising taxes and government intrusion into our lives, government bureaucrats – like school superintendents – continue to profit.
Meanwhile, we are all still waiting on meaningful property tax relief despite the state government having over-collected revenues from the citizenry.
The good news is that more and more people are getting informed, becoming involved, and making their voices heard.
