Lauren Underwood For Congress [[link removed]]
This week, from April 11 to 17, is recognized as Black Maternal Health Week. As many know, Lauren and our team have been at the forefront of addressing the maternal health crisis in Congress.

It’s more critical than ever that Congress passes Lauren’s Black Maternal Health Momnibus Act and she wants to know if you’re on board to help us get it done. Please add your name to our list of supporters calling on Congress to finish what we started and pass Lauren’s Momnibus package by the end of the year >>> [[link removed]]

SAVE MOMS' LIVES [[link removed]]

Let’s get to the facts:

*
Pregnant
women
and
new
moms
in
the
U.S.
are
dying
at
a
higher
rate
than
any
other
high-income
nation
in
the
world.
America’s
maternal
mortality
rate
skyrocketed
nearly
90
percent
from
2018
to
2021.
*
*
Among
the
moms
affected,
Black
women
are
three
to
four
times
more
likely
to
die
from
a
pregnancy-related
cause
than
white
women.
*
*
Eight
out
of
ten
maternal
deaths
are
preventable.
*
*
According
to
the
CDC,
the
U.S.
is
the
only
industrialized
nation
where
this
problem
is
worsening
.
This
is
in
large
part
due
to
systemic
and
institutional
racism
and
bias
baked
in
the
health
care
sector.
*
*
If
passed,
Lauren’s
Black
Maternal
Health
Momnibus
Act
would
make
critical
investments
to
improve
maternal
health
across
the
nation
and
specifically
address
discriminatory
dimensions
of
this
crisis.

The state of maternal mortality across the country is heartbreaking and infuriating but if we take a bold approach to address it head-on, we can save moms’ lives .

That’s why we’re calling on this team to help us get the job done. We must remain courageous and committed in this fight as we urge Congress to pass every bill in Lauren’s Momnibus package this year .

John, will you stand with Lauren and advocate for women everywhere? Add your name to demand Congress take action NOW >>> [[link removed]]

Together, we can get this legislation passed and make a historic leap of progress for both reproductive health care and Black maternal health.

We’re grateful to have you join in our advocacy work on this urgent issue. Thanks for reading and taking action.
