U.S. Rep. Chip Roy recently endorsed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to be the 2024 Republican presidential nominee, calling the Florida governor “a man of conviction” and saying he “unequivocally has made Florida stronger and freer.”

“Roy’s endorsement appears to be the first official endorsement by a member of the Texas congressional delegation for DeSantis, who is widely expected to jump into the 2024 contest after the Florida legislature adjourns later this year.”

Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) is teaming up with Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) on legislation to scrap the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, which was led by Dr. Anthony Fauci for just shy of four decades.

NIAID is an agency that operates under the umbrella of the National Institutes of Health and seeks to develop treatments and countermeasures to infectious diseases. Under the NIH Reform Act recently announced, Paul and Roy are seeking to divvy up the NIAID into three separate research institutions.

“Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, is leading an effort to amend the controversial Respect for Marriage Act, a law aimed at protecting same-sex marriages that was passed with bipartisan support last summer, in order to include new protections for religious observers that weren't included.
