This might be the first time you've ever received an email from a park, so allow me to introduce myself, John.
Before I tell you my story, here are some quick facts about me:
- I’m almost 2 years old.
- My home and my friends are in New Jersey.
- I take up 1.5 acres.
- I have a basketball court, stationary bikes, and a playground!
But what’s really special about me is the brave little boy I’m named after.
Dominick Andujar died a hero while keeping his sister safe in Camden, New Jersey, in 2012. His death is a tragedy, but now, thanks to our community’s vision and the help of Trust for Public Land, I am proud to help Dominick’s legacy live on by providing a space for children and their families to discover the joys of the outdoors.
Dominick’s loved ones hoped for a place where our community could come together to safely play, forge connections, and thrive outside. Now, I’m here to honor Dominick and this community for generations to come.
