Dear John,
Amidst the Supreme Court’s all-time low rating of public trust, media recently revealed that Justice Thomas accepted gifts worth millions of dollars from right wing conservative Harlan Crow – without disclosing a dime of it. The nine justices of the Supreme Court are largely unaccountable to the American people, whose lives they change with each new ruling. While judges at every other level of our federal courts are bound by an enforceable code of ethics, Supreme Court Justices are not.
It's time to take action. Sign our petition demanding that Justice Thomas resign immediately. [[link removed]]
Supreme Court ethics has come to national attention numerous times recently due to Justice Thomas's corrupt behavior:
- He first ruled and was the lone dissent on a January 6th Insurrection case, arguing to shield co-conspirators from accountability – conspirators like his wife Ginni Thomas, who was intimately involved in planning the insurrection.
- Even more recently, news reports revealed that Justice Thomas accepted lavish vacations from Republican megadonor Harlan Crowe without proper disclosure.
Justice Thomas's utter disregard for ethical standards and violation of public disclosure law is unacceptable! His corrupt behavior has done irreparable damage to public trust in the judiciary.
Join us in calling for Justice Thomas' immediate resignation. [[link removed]]
