John -
I was recently contacted by a journalist with some pretty disgusting news...
350.org and other organizations were targeted and put under surveillance by private security companies for our work against Exxon and for our opposition to a pipeline.1
Big Oil will stop at nothing to derail our climate movement because they know we have the blueprint to defeat them and protect our planet.
But we won't stop either, John.
The stakes in this fight are only getting higher from here on out... so that is why I'm asking for your help in sending Exxon a clear message about our movement — we are many, and we are strong:
As disgusting as Big Oil's surveillance and scare tactics are, it really only tells us one thing — we are winning. They would not be trying so hard to sabotage our work if they weren't worried about what we can do. And they are right to be worried.
In spite of Big Oil's attempts to stop us, here at 350.org, we are building the people power necessary to defeat the fossil fuel industry:
These are just a few of the many, many projects that thousands of supporters' donations make possible.
But the reality is that we are up against the clock. We need to campaign and organize to stop companies like ExxonMobil from building their projects before limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius is out of reach. I know that we can beat them if we come together, but we need your help today if we are going to pull it off:
No matter what is thrown our way, I know that when we come together, we can accomplish anything. But it all starts with one single person taking action, John. So thank you for standing in this fight alongside all of us here at 350.org.
