Hey John,
Across the nation and here in Delaware we’ve seen the toll that gun violence has taken on our communities. Last weekend’s shooting at the Christiana Mall, has once again highlighted the critical need for common-sense gun safety measures in our state. Our hearts go out to the victims and their families.
Thankfully, Delaware has made significant progress toward improving gun safety including raising the minimum age to purchase a firearm and banning assault weapons but there is still so much more that needs to be done to reduce gun violence and protect our communities.
That's why we are calling on you to join us in advocating for a permit-to-purchase system for handguns in Delaware. Sign the petition here. [[link removed]]

This system would require individuals to complete a training course before obtaining a permit to purchase a handgun, thereby ensuring that those exercising their 2nd amendment rights have the training to do so responsibly.
Delaware has taken significant steps to strengthen our gun laws like limiting high-capacity magazines and holding irresponsible gun manufacturers and dealers accountable for their actions, but the work is not finished. There is still much more to be done to save lives in the First State.
Thank you for your unwavering support.
Sincerely,
Travis Williams
