Building a Triceratops
Prehistoric Wyoming Exhibit Update
Our Triceratops is officially out on display!?
With A LOT of help from Levi Shinkle from the Wyoming Dinosaur Center in Thermopolis, we?ve installed our Triceratops! This full-sized cast is a composite. That means it has been pieced together from multiple Triceratops skeletons. But the best part is they were all found outside of Lusk, Wyoming ? so it?s still a hometown dino!
We?re getting close to the finish line! This month we plan to install the interpretation surrounding the Camptosaurus and Triceratops mounts, finish up text for other areas, and finalize the new interactives.
Family Day: Military Appreciation
Saturday, May 6
10 AM - 2 PM
Let?s celebrate, honor and recognize members of our military!
May is Military Appreciation month, a time to pay tribute to the people who serve in all branches of the US military. The Wyoming State Museum will host members of the National Guard, the Air Force, and a variety of local military groups to give families an opportunity to learn, play, and say thank you! Check out military vehicles, run a PT course, and learn the history of national symbols like the bald eagle.
Family Days are generously sponsored by Scheels in Johnstown, CO. Thanks to their support, these events are always free and open to everyone!

Celebrate Eid Al-Fitr
at the Islamic Center of Cheyenne
Muslims fast from sunrise to sundown during the month of Ramadan. In addition to abstaining from eating and drinking, those who fast also restrain themselves from evil thoughts, speeches, and actions. Eid al-Fitr "the Festival of Breaking the Fast" is celebrated at the end of Ramadan and is one of the most anticipated Islamic holidays. The day starts with performing a special prayer service at the mosque, known as salat al-eid.
The Islamic Center of Cheyenne has an open invitation to anyone interested in celebrating with us this special day for Muslims around the world. Date is most probably Saturday, 22nd April, however could also be Friday 21st based on the sighting of the new moon.
