John, more people than ever report feeling worried about climate change, including me. Feeling concerned about the climate is a sign we care. We can channel our climate concern into meaningful action through our jobs and communities to help save the planet. 

That’s why EDF created the Degrees podcast — to show you how. Degrees podcast host and Climate Corps director, Yesh Pavlik Slenk, and guests dive into the rapidly growing field of green jobs through real stories of impact and unique insights from personal experiences.

You can check out these three recent episodes for inspiring examples of how people like you can turn your climate concern into climate action:

  • Diversifying the green workforce for more equitable climate solutions: Only 11% of green jobs are held by Black or African Americans. That’s why Wes Gobar co-founded Black Oak Collective — to involve more Black communities in climate action. The organization works with Black environmentalists to land green jobs and grow a supportive career network. Find out how Wes is changing lives and the planet. 
  • Accelerating the electric vehicle transition and improving air quality: The electric vehicle industry will help create thousands of new jobs and support our health through cleaner air. Kameale C. Terry co-founded ChargerHelp! to repair charging stations, fast. Her organization is speeding up the adoption of electric vehicles by ensuring chargers are more reliable and accessible to everyone.   • Advocating for community engagement and green jobs for all: Heather McTeer Toney, the executive director of Beyond Petrochemicals, advocates for prioritizing people over polluters and increasing access to green careers. She works to ensure communities on the frontlines of climate change are recognized for their knowledge and are central to climate solutions. Have Heather inspire you to be a climate leader.
