BJS cosponsors the 2023 NCHS Data Detectives Camp for rising 6th and 7th?graders [ [link removed] ]

The Bureau of Justice Statistics is cosponsoring the 2023 National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) Data Detectives Camp taking place August 21?25, 2023, at NCHS headquarters in Hyattsville, Maryland. At this camp, scientists from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will teach statistical concepts to rising 6th and 7th grade students to get them to think like a data detective by asking the right questions, collecting needed information, analyzing the data, and determining the answers. This is a free, 1-week, commuter day camp.

Interested students need to submit an application form by April 28, along with a recommendation from the student?s math or science teacher. Students will be randomly selected, and parents will be notified by the week of May 15.
