Together, we can make an impact

Every minute of every day, someone is being supported by Families in Transition. With your support in 2022, we helped someone 9,665 times by meeting them where they were and providing them with housing, shelter, substance use treatment, or access to food they needed. Walking together to end hunger

For the last 33 years, we have come together as a community for our annual Walk Against Hunger. Your participation in this event helps to raise critical funds needed to support families and households facing food insecurity in our community. In fact, last year, because of our supporters, we supported the approximately 800 households that visited our food pantry every month. It also means that we were able to serve over 190,000 meals to our participants in our emergency shelters and supportive housing.

The dollars raised are as crucial as ever. With food prices rising and food donations declining, we are looking to our community to step up again. Last year our supporters raised nearly $150,000, and we need the communities to help to do even more this year in service of those experiencing hunger.

That is why we hope to see you on May 21st at 12 PM – starting at Veteran’s Park. We will walk close to a three-mile loop that will tour five Families in Transition properties, then end back at the park for an after-party. The after-party will include a DJ, free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, lawn games, photo opportunities, and more!
