Friend -
We bet you’ve been getting a lot of emails this week talking about a “mid-month fundraising deadline.” So, we wanted to take a second to break this idea down and explain what’s really happening.
First off, “mid-month” deadlines aren’t official deadlines of any kind. It’s just a tactic some campaigns use to generate a sense of urgency to convince people to give. We don’t do that.
So rather than giving you a completely made-up emergency or trying to convince you that the sky is falling, we’ll just lay our cards out on the table:
The end of this week marks the halfway point of April. We have some (real) fundraising goals in April we need to reach so we can continue to run a smart and strategic campaign, which is why we’re sending a few more emails than usual this week – to help us keep up the pace we’ve set for ourselves this month.
So yes: we are going to be emailing more than usual this week, because any strong campaign has to work towards their goals. But we won’t be telling you it’s because of a fake deadline. We hope you’ll see this as a refreshing, but still compelling reason to support us today.
