Two great free events are coming up this month, one in London, one online!
1. Resisting surveillance on the UK border and in our communities - London Workshop.
Join us for an evening of talks and discussion on how to resist surveillance on the UK border and in our communities. There will be time for food and a social too!

We are seeing an increased use of military grade surveillance by UK police forces and the Home Office. On our borders, this is used to criminalise migrants. In our communities, this is used to target marginalised communities and to crack down on our right to dissent. Through working together, we hope to find ways we can resist this and all the other forms of repressive surveillance that are being used to criminalise communities and protest movements.
We will be joined by some amazing speakers including Abolish Reporting; Netpol; United for Black Lives; and Campaign Against Arms Trade. As well as hearing from what these groups are working on, there will be time for break out group discussions to discuss how we can take action against the UK’s surveillance state and how we make this part of our wider campaigning work for arms trade, policing and border abolition. We want to hear what you have to say!

2. Online Film Launch Event: "Arms Sales to Dictators, Displacement, and Militarised Borders"
Join London Campaign Against Arms Trade for a launch of their new film on the UK government and the UK arms industry’s involvement in and around the Syrian Civil war.

Time: 18:30-20:00
The film critically tracks the UK government’s issuing of chemical licences to companies selling to Bashar al Assad, who would go on to gas Syrians. It then examines arms sales to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, whose border guards shoot at and kill Syrians trying to flee and is accused of ethnic cleansing of the Kurdish population. Finally, it looks at how the UK choses to support a policy of militarised borders in Lebanon and Jordan which has made it even harder for Syrians to escape.
We will show the film and then have a panel of speakers (tbc) who will talk about the issues raised in the film. There will be time for questions.
