In March, government officials from 120 countries participated in one of the largest policy events of the year: the second Summit for Democracy, an initiative led by the Biden Administration and held in partnership with the governments of the Netherlands, South Korea, Costa Rica, and Zambia.
While several well-reasoned critiques have been published about the Summit for Democracy, it has sparked countless initiatives that may advance reforms and push back against authoritarianism in the years to come.
