April is the month of the military child. It gives us the opportunity to honor the unique service and sacrifice of military families while acknowledging the role they play in sustaining the force. We all know when our children are safe, when we have a say in their lives, and when there are resources available to meet their needs, we perform better at work, and life satisfaction increases.
This could not be more important for our men and women in uniform, particularly as our military faces its most severe recruiting and retention crisis in the history of the all-volunteer force ([link removed]) .
Unfortunately, many of our military members must manage inadequate medical care ([link removed]) for their children, unsafe housing ([link removed]) , food insecurity ([link removed]) , and a lack of child care ([link removed]) or education choice. We are asking Americans to fight and die for our country while failing to give them peace of mind and allow them to commit fully to that calling. A survey of over 38,000 troops found the top reasons for leaving the military were issues related to families. To sustain a force, we must sustain the families.

------------------------------------------------------------
“The truth is: this extreme movement doesn’t want equal rights. They want to deny women rights — our right to compete, our right to privacy, and our right to speak out. I’m hoping that what happened to me in San Francisco will encourage more parents, athletes, coaches, and others to open their eyes and their mouths. Because when the mob tries to silence you, the best response is to speak louder.”

Just hours before the attack on IWF's Riley Gaines at San Francisco State University, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said during a press briefing that trans-identifying individuals are “fierce,” “they fight back,” “they aren’t going anywhere,” and that the Biden “administration has their back.” The comments are completely irresponsible and are encouraging activists to think that it is okay to be aggressive, to shout down and threaten speakers like Riley. ** Fact Check: Have There Been More School Shootings Than Days in the Year in 2023? ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------
Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) recently said: “[We’ve had] more school shootings than days in the year so far in 2023.” The accuracy of this quote hinges on the definition of a school shooting. There is no universal definition of a school shooting, and the federal government does not track school shootings. Organizations and media outlets use various definitions to track school shootings. This leads to variations in the total number. Read more ([link removed])
